Ketchopian Bi-State Area

The Ketchopian Bi-State Area, otherwise known as Ketchopia, is a country in west Fridgia, and is populated by tomatoes and sugars.

The current President of Ketchopia is Tom, a tomato who has great ideas, but is not very good at successfully accomplishing them. Two other important figures from Ketchopia are Sue Gar, a sugar from the northern state of Ketch, and Nota Veg, a tomato from the southern state of Opia.

Ketchopia was established in 296 MA. Ketch and Opia united when the Condimentian Alliance was formed, as Ketch, Opia, Mayoneez and SORP did not want to be taken over by Pankaco, a country formerly called the Pankastian Empire until Pastia declared independence, as they had conquered almost all of Condimentia.

Ketchopia is also famous because, in c. 318 MA, the Ketchopians where playing around with an element called Pomelium-238, when they dropped it on a pile of explosives. The surrounding few miles were engulfed in a mushroom cloud. SORP and ROW immediately started stockpiling these "Nuclear Bombs", with the Citrus Kingdom and Nutland following shortly after. Later, it was decided that all of the elements have different names, ie not all of them being "Pomelium", and thus this metal was renamed "Uranium-238"

In the year 369ma, Ketchopia decide to invade Pankaco, as retaliation for Nutland invading Mayoneez. However, Ketchopia’s three-soldier army was no match for Pankaco‘s army, which is widely regarded as the most powerful army on Fridgia. As a result, most of the southern state of Opia, a region Pankaco reffered to as Ostwaffel, was conquered. Just 3 years later, Berryland decided to invade Pankaco, "liberating" Ostwaffel back to Ketchopia, in the Second Panko-Berry war. Most of the world did not approve of this war, as the area was Pankastian homeland, with more pancakes than tomatoes as their population. The residence oIf the region also celebrated the 369 Pankaco invasion, as their government was more competent at actually governing. Although Pankaco started winning towards the end of the war, a global emergency summit in Polaris agreed that the region would be returned to Pankaco, in exchange for free travel between Pankaco and Ketchopia, as well as free citizenship for all Pancakes and Waffles in the region.

Ketchopia is known for not being very good at accomplishing tasks. However, they have many great philosophers, some of which have more recently come up with ideologies like Reverse-Murphyism: If anything that can go wrong will go wrong, then try to fail and you will ultimately succeed. One Ketchopian political party with these views has become increasingly popular, promising to "End the Era of Error".

Ketchopia has an unusual election system. Everyone votes for their favorite candidate, and then all of the votes are put inside of a giant hat, then shuffled at random. The current president will then draw a random vote out of the hat, and the candidate who received that vote will be the next president.
